This version was a revamp of the offline stand alone Kit Builder to produce it online and roll it out to multiple retailers. Improvements to the application included adding kids products, selecting multiple products from the same category, saving and retrieving your custom kit, localising for multiple languages, analytics, and sending an image of your custom kit to a friend. Furthermore, two distinct journies were integrated into the application to distinguish whether you are using the application online or from within a retail store. This was so users online could only save their design and be provided a design code to bring into their nearest retail store where they could retrieve their design and continue the application to go through the order process with a sales representative.
Technically speaking, this involved a re-architecture of the code structure to which I applied the Pure MVC framework. AIR was used to develop a wrapper application for retailers to install and access Kit Builder by providing store settings. Flex 3 was used to develop an internal application for defining all customisation (crest, sponsor, name, number) positions and sizing that are applied to products. All designs by R/GA.
NOTE: Some minor design updates and content changes have occurred since I worked on this, along with social media integration.
User could customize their kit via many configurable options.
Entire product catalogue allowed a user to choose from current merchandise with sizing and pricing details.
A completed mannequin perspective of your customized kit.
User was given a unique ID to bring to their nearest Nike flag store to go through with order of customized kit.
Application allowed for custom names, numbers, logos and sponsors.
